BOISE - Get ready 80s rock fans -- one of the biggest bands of the decade is headed for the Treasure Valley.

Def Leppard is set to take the Idaho Center stage on April 22nd - as part of a 19-city North American tour.

The band just wrapped up a huge 50 city tour in 2007 - and now are set to play a rash of mid-size venues. The tour will support the release of a new album set to hit the streets this year, according to promoters.

Def Leppard is one of just five rock bands to sell more than 10 million copies of two albums. The others are The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Van Halen.

"Def Leppard is consistently one of the most exciting and successful bands we work with year in and year out," said Live Nation Senior Vice President of Touring Bruce Kapp. "There is no better way to kick off our touring season than with Def Leppard."

The English band is best known for its single "Pour Some Sugar On Me" - which hit the radio in 1987, and hit #2 on the US Hot 100 chart. The video later was named the number one video of all time by MTV.

Tickets will go on sale this Friday at LiveNation.com.

John Vlautin tells NewsChannel 7 that Def Leppard will be joined by Treasure Valley favorites Styx and REO Speedwagon

The band will also play in Spokane on April 23rd.
