IDAHO FALLS -- An Idaho Falls couple is safe after their dog caused an apartment fire on New Year's Eve.

The couple says the Rottweiler turned on a stove burner with his nose while they weren't home. Presents on top of the stove burst into flames, and the apartment complex was evacuated while firefighters put out the fire.

Will Case, who lives in the apartment, says it wasn't the dog's fault -- he says firefighters told him there was a problem with the stove because it was so easy to ignite.

Firefighters broke the window and kicked in the door to reach the flames. Nobody was injured.
