Shane Hicks, 35, of Fruitland, faces lewd conduct charges in Canyon and Ada counties.

BOISE -- A 35-year-old Fruitland man has been arraigned in an Ada County courtroom on three counts of lewd conduct with a minor child.

Ada County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Shane Hicks Wednesday.  The child abuse suspect fled the area last year to avoid arrest.

Prosecuting attorneys say Hicks is accused of molesting a girl under the age of 10.  The child was an acquaintance of his.

He is being held in the Ada County Jail on a $200,000 bond and is due back in District Court on Feb. 28.

Hicks is accused of a similar crime in Canyon County.  He is awaiting trial in both cases.
