BURLEY - A rollover crash in the Magic Valley left one person dead – and three people hurt, including a Meridian teen.

The crash happened on Interstate 84 at 2:11 a.m. Friday morning near Burley – and police say alcohol may have been a factor.

John Richardson, 19, of Meridian, was driving when he drifted off the road and overcorrected. The car rolled several times – plowing through a fence and landing on a frontage road.

Richardson had his seatbelt on but all four passengers in the car did not and were ejected from the car.

Jason Burch, 30, of Kimberly, died on scene.  An air ambulance took Crystal Nipper, 24, of Twin Falls, to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello with hip and leg injuries.  A separate air ambulance took Amber Denton, 16, of Twin Falls, to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise with skull injuries.

Paramedics took Jacqulyn Nipper, 20, of Twin Falls, to a local hospital.

Another person in the car did not suffer injuries.

Idaho State Police troopers are still investigating the crash.
