Wolves killed near Idaho border after livestock depredation
04:16 PM MST on Monday, December 18, 2006
WISDOM, Mont. -- Federal agents killed four wolves on private land in Montana near the Idaho border after attacks on livestock.
The Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks authorized the killings near Wisdom, Montana, which is just over the Continental Divide from Salmon, Idaho.
The wolf deaths occurred December 11th after confirmation that wolves killed one calf and injured another on December 6th.
Carolyn Sime is the wolf program coordinator for the state agency.
She says the wolves were part of the Battlefield Pack, the same pack that killed a calf on the same property in November, prompting federal agents to kill two of the wolves in the pack last month.
