CALDWELL -- Idaho State Police have released the identity of two people involved in a fatal car versus pedestrian accident in Caldwell early Sunday morning.

Just before 12:30 a.m. Mary Sue Shankle, 43, of Weiser, was crossing Simplot Boulevard near Kit Road when she was struck by a Ford Ranger driven by Breann Rodriguez, 19, of Wilder.

Shankle was transported to West Valley Medical Center where she died from her injuries.

Police have not charged the driver, but say the crash remains under investigation.
