Man thought to be a woman arrested for Twin Falls murder

Majid Kolestani, 42, of Twin Falls, is charged with first-degree murder.

BOISE -- The Twin Falls County prosecutor says a 42-year-old man thought to be a woman has been arrested and charged with a deadly shooting on Monday.

Majid Kolestani, 42, of Twin Falls, has been charged with first-degree murder of a 29-year-old man. The victim's identity has not been released.

The shooting happend Monday in the 400 block of 5th Avenue East.

Kolestani was wounded during an altercation with what neighbors said was his roommate.

He was treated for a gunshot wound at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise and arrested by Ada County Sheriff's deputies upon his release Thursday.

Police initially described Kolestani as a woman after the shooting was first reported.
