BOISE – The Idaho Supreme Court has rejected an Idaho woman’s appeal of her conviction for a brutal attack on Interstate 84 in Canyon County on June 15, 2000.

Sarah Pearce, 25, claims she was not involved in the attack on Linda Lebrane, and was mistakenly identified in a police lineup. Pearce was not arrested until nearly three years after the attack.

Lebrane was driving from Washington state to Utah when she was forced of the interstate by another car with four people inside – three men and one woman.

She was beaten with a bat, stabbed multiple times, her car set on fire and she was left for dead.

Lebrane survived and later identified her attackers.

Pearce was convicted of six felonies and sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.

In April, Pearce’s attorney asked the Idaho Supreme Court to grant her a new trial.
