BOISE - A former high school softball coach will not spend any time behind bars for having inappropriate contact with a student.
The one time Centennial High School assistant softball coach and substitute teacher Lauren K. Palmer pleaded guilty last month to a charge of injury to a child.
In April, the Ada County Sheriff's Office charged Palmer with a felony after a deputy caught her in a car with a 16-year-old girl.
After questioning Palmer and the girl, the deputy determined inappropriate touching had occurred and arrested her.
Fourth District Judge Deborah Bail ruled that it appears to be a relatively minor, isolated incident.
She sentenced Palmer to two years probation and withheld judgment, a 30-day jail sentenced deferred to Feb. 4th, restitution for counseling for the girl and she will be required to undergo thinking errors and one-on-one counseling.
