BOISE --  A Wyoming man is celebrating today after winning $250,000 on an Idaho Lottery scratch game.

Raymond Moore lives 120 miles from the Huskey’s Store in Swan Valley, Idaho, but he’s says the trip is certainly worth it.

On Thursday, he cashed in a winning Xtreme Winter Green Scratch ticket worth a quarter of a million dollars.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever win that much on a scratch-off,” said Moore.

Moore, who runs an oil field service company in Pinedale, Wyoming, was surprised to learn when he moved from Texas two years ago that Wyoming did not offer lottery games.

“I played the lottery all the time in Texas. So, my wife and I make a monthly trip to Idaho Falls for shopping and we always buy our Powerball tickets and scratch games when we get to Idaho,” said Moore. “We never miss a draw. Even in the winter with snow piled on the road, we still make the drive to Huskey’s in Swan Valley.”

After state and federal taxes, Moore took home $168,000.

Moore plans to use some of his winnings to send his mom to Australia and put the balance to good use. He also replaced his wife’s wedding band with her “wish ring.”

For their part in selling the big winning ticket, Huskey’s in Swan Valley receives a $20,000 bonus from the Idaho Lottery.
