TWIN FALLS -- Police say a crop duster from Kimberly is recovering from injuries suffered during a crash that occured shortly after taking off from the public airport in Hazelton.
The Jerome County Sheriff Department identified the pilot as 47-year-old Michael D. Jurak.
Investigators say Jurak was taking off from the airport and heading west Monday morning when the plan stalled.
Sgt. Blas Martinez says the plane, a Gruman Turbine Ag Cat, crashed down on a gravel parking area owned by a chemical company, slid across a frontage road and smashed into a power pole.
Jurak suffered only minor injuries. Martinez says the sheriff's office and the Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the accident.
