Satchel's Grill on Bannock St. between Capitol and Sixth Street will close down this Saturday.

BOISE - Satchel’s Grill will no longer entertain and feed the masses in downtown Boise after this week.

Dominic DeLaquil tells NewsChannel 7 that the business will close after dinner this Saturday night.

Satchel’s carved out a niche downtown with movies on its large patio and live music acts.  The eatery has a busy final week planned, with live music on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday – and showings of the movie Stardust on Thursday and Saturday.

The news of the pending closure was first reported on local blog Boisee.com last week.

DeLaquil said the decision to close was “financial.”  He said a group of patrons are meeting on Tuesday to try and hash out a way to find a way to keep the business open.

The restaurant’s menu featured a wide variety of entrées, and specialized in making its offerings for a variety of diets, including low carb, heart healthy and vegetarian.

Satchel's is the latest in a slew of restaurants to close. Eighth Street Wine Company abruptly closed last week, and joins Milky Way, Mortimer's and Andre's on the closed list. Gino's Bistro is also closed, but plans to reopen in Meridian. The original Gino's Restaurant remains open.
