A group of dignitaries took turns at breaking the wall of Boise's new branch library.
BOISE -- An official wall breaking ceremony kicked off construction on the Library! at Collister.
Mayor Dave Bieter, the Boise city council the Boise public library board and even some kids, helped knock down the wall.
The Library! at Collister, along with a store front library in the Hillcrest Shopping Center are scheduled to open in December and January.
"We want library services in the neighborhoods, so that folks can get to a library very easily, without fighting traffic, kids can come after school, where you can walk, ride your bike, that’s been one of the goals all along," said Kevin Booe, library director.
Two larger libraries, planned for west Boise at Cole and Ustick and Bown Crossing in southeast Boise are scheduled to open in 2009 and 2010.
