Police: Man beats Boise woman, steals refrigerator

BOISE -- A Meridian man is in custody after police say he robbed a woman of a refrigerator and beat her.
Gregory James Wells, 40, is charged with robbery after police say he went to the victim's home near Milwaukee and Emerald streets in Boise to buy a refrigerator she offered for sale on a classified ad.
Boise Police say Wells loaded up the refrigerator into a truck, then beat the woman with a bookend and left with the fridge and several other items.
The woman, who is in her late 50s, was taken to a local hospital where she was treated for head wounds and released.
Officers have located the stolen refrigerator and the other items taken in the robbery. The stolen items will be returned to the victim.
