One pharmacist says there are fewer and fewer local pharmacies in our area, so she decided to open her own shop.

Elaine Ladd cut the ribbon on her new pharmacy in Boise on Saturday. It's located in the same building as the Key Bank on Broadway. The staff makes up more than 70 years of combined pharmacy experience. Ladd says the feeling of hometown pharmacies is lost and Boise needs to open more to help residents with their medication.

"With the lower reimbursement from insurance company's it's very difficult for independent pharmacy's to sustain and be sustainable so what we have had to do is differentiate our services," said Elaine Ladd, Owner.

Ladd says they are doing that by having free CPR classes, yoga, and health care screenings with an overall focus on health and wellness.
