Three pit bulls that attacked toddler euthanized

NAMPA -- Nampa Police say three pit bulls that attacked a three-year-old boy last Friday have been euthanized.
The owners of the dogs have been cooperating with police and signed the paperwork to put the dogs to death.
Korbin Edison was alone with the dogs when he was attacked in the backyard of a home at 2400 Windmill Avenue in Nampa.
He suffered critical injuries and remains hospitalized.
NewsChannel 7 sat down with the child's grandmother and has more on what happened and how the little boy is recovering.
Korbin is in stable condition, but remains in a comatose state with his parents by his side.
We want to warn our viewers that the description of what happened to the toddler may be disturbing.
"There's been so many stories I don't know if we will ever know the truth," said Shirley Edison, Korbin's grandmother.
Shirley Edison found out Friday night that her three-year-old grandson had been involved in an accident.
She says at this point no one really knows how long Korbin was in the backyard of a family friend's house with what police describe as three aggressive pit bulls.
"It was some time apparently because the paramedics were there immediately, and he had already lost a lot of blood, and he was, and he didn't have a pulse when they got there," said Shirley Edison.
Shirley's description of what happened to her grandson is graphic.
"They clamped onto his neck from ear to ear, and had ripped it open. It wasn't just puncture wounds, they had ripped it literally open until his spinal cord was exposed," she said.
And the injuries don't end there. The dogs tore into other areas of Korbin's body leaving him with severe blood loss and a future that his grandmother says is uncertain.
"It's very hard, it's very hard knowing he's going to need long term care. And to think that that won't be him anymore is very hard," she said.
Right now, Shirley and Korbin's parents are taking things one step at a time.
"We're just hoping for the best. That's all we can do. And we don't think about tomorrow, we just think about today," said Shirley Edison.
Nampa Police Lt. Brad Daniels tells us the owner of the dogs has been completely cooperative during the investigation into this attack.
He says it will probably be a couple of days before the case goes to prosecutors to decide if any criminal charges will be filed.
An account to help the family with Korbin's medical expenses has been set up at local US Bank branches.
