CALDWELL -- The city of Caldwell wraps up a project to restore the natural ecosystem of Indian Creek.
Over the last six years the city has undertaken an aggressive effort to revitalize the city center.
The project has uncovered and redirected Indian Creek through the city center, opening up a 120-foot wide space with natural rock features and a greenbelt through the city center.
"I think what we're really excited about is the great look of the water and over a half mile of biking and walking trails that we've provided along the creek," said Dennis Cannon, Caldwell redevelopment coordinator.
Fish and Game will stock the creek with trout this weekend.
The completed restoration will be celebrated with a citywide cleanup Saturday followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony and the first annual fishing derby.
