BOISE -- The Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration is
investigating whether working conditions at a site where a 58-year-old
Boise man died complied with safety regulations.
James Wonacott died from extensive head and neck injuries after he was
hit by a chain while clearing trees near the Boise River Tuesday.
Ada County Coronor Erwin Sonnenberg says the chain was wrapped around a
tree. It got caught in a chipper, which threw the chain at Wonacott.
Investigators say he died at the scene.
OSHA reports say he was working for Hailey, Idaho-based Sawtooth Wood
Recycling.
The company was clearing out trees for a development on the south
channel of the river near Eagle.
