Yellow ribbons go up to show support for veterans

The ribbons are to show support for veterans.

BOISE - Yellow ribbons now hang on the trees next to the VA Hospital in Boise.

Today, VA workers placed the ribbons to show special support for our service men and women still actively serving our nation.

But it's also a time to honor veterans who have passed away.

The yellow ribbon project is a prelude to Saturday's Armed Forces Day events including the Gear Jammers Fund Run.

More than 150 classic vehicles – cars, pickups and motorcycles – will be displayed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Idaho State Veterans Home.

There will also be food, music and other entertainment.
