Wine and food enthusiasts take time to 'Savor Idaho'

BOISE -- Idaho is becoming more and more known for its wine manufacturing, and June is actually Idaho wine month.

Many people came out Sunday for the 6th annual Savor Idaho event at the Idaho Botanical Gardens.

It's a good chance for people to enjoy the tastes of local wine and food.

There are 27 wineries, along with 20 restaurants taking part in the event.

Organizers say it s a way to promote locally made wine.

It s great because you are just in and you get to experience all these wineries and restaurants in one spot, said Moya Dolsby, Executive Director, Idaho Wine Commission. It s people who love food and wine and want to support what s local, and what s great is we have the Boise Co-Op here so you can actually do wine sales.

This year's event was sold out two weeks in advance.

But you can prepare for next year because it always happens the second week in June.

It s just another way people are catching on to the Idaho wine culture.
