BOISE - Sunday was the final day of the 2016 Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic.
Unfortunately, poor weather conditions, including rain, kept balloons grounded, and prevented the spectacular ending that organizers had been hoping for.

But that doesn't mean the entire event was a bust. In fact, balloons were able to launch on two occasions this week, and organizers say they had a great turnout on Kids Day, when balloons lift off the ground, but stay tethered.
Better weather last year allowed for a successful "Great Launch" on the final day, with all 50 balloons taking flight at the same time.
Organizers say they need near-perfect weather conditions in order to launch every balloon at once.
