Twin Falls police identify victim in one-car crash

TWIN FALLS -- Police in southern Idaho say a 25-year-old man killed in a suspected drunk driving accident was from Wendell.

The Times-News reports that Steven Earl Napoleon Gray, formerly of Lancaster, Calif. died early Saturday when the car he was riding in crashed into a tree.

Twenty-three-year-old Cody Williams Abbott has been charged with vehicular manslaughter in connection with Gray's death.

Police say Abbott, Gray and John McRill were drinking together Friday night when Abbott apparently got into his car. Police say McRill told them that he jumped in the passenger seat to try to take the keys out of the ignition and Grey climbed in the back, but Abbott sped away before McRill could stop him.

Police say the crash occurred just seconds later.
