Truck plunges into Anderson Ranch Reservoir, 2 rescued

ELMORE COUNTY - Two people were rescued after their vehicle plunged 150 feet down an embankment into Anderson Ranch Reservoir Saturday night.

Elmore County Search and Rescue said in a Facebook post on Sunday that the truck went off the side of Fall Creek Road, and that one of the vehicle's occupants was thrown from the truck, while the other escaped once it was in the water.

The search and rescue team credited good Samaritans, who arrived on scene first, as the true heroes of the rescue operation.

"They were quick to respond and helped to save their lives," the team said in the post.

The Elmore County Sheriff's Office, Search and Rescue, several ambulances and an air ambulance responded to the scene of the crash.

At this point, there's no word on the conditions of the two people involved, or if they were taken to the hospital.
