BOISE - The Blaine County School District says its transportation director has resigned following a school bus crash in Lincoln County last month.
Superintendent Dr. GwenCarol Holmes says during their investigation they found some procedures and code of ethics were not being followed. When asked about the code ethics failure, she said right now the district is re-emphasizing to employees that compassion and concern for a fellow employee must never trump responsibilities for the safety of students.
She says the district is working to make sure an accident like this doesn't happen again. They are also working to restructure the transportation department to regain trust from parents.
"The only way we can earn trust is by our actions, so taking actions to respond to the investigation to any data that we have received that says we can do a better job in some areas is an action in regaining trust," said Holmes.
The rollover crash happened on April 18 and sent at least 12 students to the hospital.
