Three people hurt in crash on Horseshoe Bend Hill

BOISE COUNTY -- Three people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 55 on Horseshoe Bend Hill this morning.

Idaho State Police investigated the crash which occurred at 11:08 a.m. near milepost 58, south of Horseshoe Bend.

Troopers say that 63-year-old Clinton Johnson of Boise was northbound in a 2007 Nissan Altima and was negotiating a right curve in the road when he lost control of his car and cross into oncoming traffic.

The Nissan struck a 1991 Acura Legend driven by 35-year-old Erin Kueneman of Star.

Johnson and his passenger, 46-year-old Kathryn Paris of Boise, were transported via ground ambulance to St. Luke's in Boise. Kueneman was transported via air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

The highway was partially blocked for more than four hours while police investigated and crews worked to clear the scene.

Police say everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
