Skateboarder injured in Boise hit-and-run crash

BOISE - Police are looking for a driver who was involved in a crash with a skateboarder late Monday night.

The skateboarder told officers that at about 11 p.m., he was riding north on Roosevelt Street from Hillcrest Drive when an SUV turned in front of him, causing him to crash into the side of the vehicle.

The driver then left the scene, police said. The victim was taken to the hospital by a friend.

According to a gofundme page, the victim was Dalton Harrold. His sister set up the page to help with medical expenses. She said Harrold suffered from a head injury, severely bruised lungs and a hematoma on his hip.

As of Wednesday evening, the account had raised almost $1,000 of its $10,000 goal.

Police say there is limited information about the vehicle, but described it as a dark-colored SUV.

The crash is under investigation by the Boise Police Department, and anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
