The Boise County Sheriff’s Office is urging the public to be on the lookout for a vehicle that is believed to have gone into the Payette River Sunday morning.
Just after 9 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a report of a pickup truck going off Highway 55 into the river just north of the Gardena Bridge.
Deputies along with other emergency responders from Horseshoe Bend and Garden Valley, and volunteers from the Cascade Raft Company, searched the river for several hours but did not locate a truck or any persons in the water.
The search extended downstream to the Horseshoe Bend Dam area.
The sheriff’s office is asking the public to keep an eye out while rafting or fishing on the Payette River.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Boise County dispatch at 208-392-4411.
