Couple shocked to find Huston's SUV on their property

SHERIDAN, Ore. – The couple who found Jennifer Huston's SUV on their Sheridan property said they had been praying for her safe return before the Tuesday discovery.

"It's horrible. It's horrible. I never would have thought that would happen on this property," said Charlotte Clemmer Tuesday evening, "It's something like a needle in a haystack."

Around 10:00 a.m. her husband, Vern Clemmer, went to cut wood on the couple's property off of Gopher Valley Road, about 40 miles from where Huston lived.

Jennifer Huston's SUV was found Tuesday in a remote area of Yamhill County.

"I discovered the SUV, I looked around for somebody, didn't find anybody," Vern said. "It didn't dawn on me that this is the SUV everybody's looking for. I seen it on TV."

He took down the plate number and asked Charlotte to call 911.

"I said, 'That's it.' I knew right away. I knew when it was dark green, newer automobile, good shape," Charlotte said. "Why was it parked back on our property?"

Yamhill County Deputies later found Huston's body about 50 yards from her SUV. They still don't know how she died.

With road blocks up, neighbors came and went all through the day, realizing their search for Huston was over.

"I checked Deer Creek Park today just because of what's been going on," said Conni Holder, who lives nearby. She had a feeling Huston would be located soon, she just hoped it would be good news. "It's just a tragedy as far as I'm concerned, just a tragedy."
