Driver who hit Nampa pedestrian charged with DUI

NAMPA -- A Nampa man was hospitalized after he was hit by a car in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The collision happened just before 2 a.m. at East Amity Avenue and Chicago Street.

Police say 25-year-old Samantha Robling of Nampa was driving under the influence when she hit the man with her 2008 Nissan sedan.

There are crosswalks at the intersection, but it's unclear whether the 30-year-old pedestrian was using them. The injured man was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The severity of his injuries is unknown.

Robling, who was not hurt in the crash, was charged with misdemeanor DUI. She is due to appear in court Dec. 13.

The crash is under investigation by Nampa Police.
