Nampa pair injured in I-84 wreck

PAYETTE COUNTY -- Two people from Nampa were injured Thursday night in a crash in Payette County.

The wreck happened at about 8:15 p.m. on I-84 near milepost 9.

Idaho State Police say 30-year-old Sarah Daniel was headed west in a 1949 Willey's pickup truck when the truck's rear tire blew out. Daniel lost control of the pickup and went off the right shoulder, hitting a guardrail.

Both Daniel and her passenger, 36-year-old Dustin C. France, were thrown from the vehicle in the crash. Neither one was wearing a seatbelt, police say,

Daniel was airlifted to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, while France was taken to the same hospital by ground ambulance.

The westbound interstate was intermittently blocked for about two hours after the wreck.
