Motorcycle rider dies in State Street crash

BOISE -- A Boise man was killed late Wednesday night after his motorcycle crashed head-on into a car on State Street.

The wreck happened at 11:01 p.m. near the intersection of Sycamore Drive in Boise.

Idaho State Police say the 63-year-old motorcycle rider was headed east on State Street when he crossed over the centerline and into the westbound lanes, hitting an oncoming Ford Focus head-on.

The man was not wearing a helmet, police say. He was taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center by ambulance, but died from his injuries at the hospital.

The man was identified as Jack L. Montgomery by the Ada County Coroner's Office. He died from blunt force trauma, according to the coroner. Toxicology tests are pending.

The driver of the Ford Focus, 18-year-old  Taylor Kasuba, was not hurt. The crash remains under investigation.
