BOISE - Micron employees have stepped up to make sure more Idaho families will have a Thanksgiving dinner this year.
Micron provides employees with a turkey or ham for the holidays, but many choose to donate these gifts to families in need.
Today they donated a truckload of 1,795 turkeys and hams to the Idaho Foodbank.
“We saw a major surge this year in the giving of the hams and turkeys, in fact it’s up to a 50 percent increase on both types of food items, so we're really excited that it’s increased this year,” said Kami Faylor, Micron community relations manager.
Micron's employees have been doing this for 16 years, and have in all those years combined, have given 24,000 turkeys and hams to Idahoans who are food insecure.
