Man hit by car, seriously injured in Boise

BOISE - A man hit by a car Saturday evening is in the hospital with what Boise Police describe as "significant injuries that appeared on-scene to be life-threatening."

Boise Police Dept.  communications manager Haley Williams says that at about 6:10 p.m. Saturday, a car traveling westbound on Overland Road east of Orchard Street hit the man as he was walking across the street. Police say the man was not in a crosswalk.

The driver, a woman, was questioned by police and released.

The pedestrian's condition had improved from critical to serious by Monday morning.

Any witnesses to the collision who have not yet spoken with police are asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
