Coroner releases identity of teen driver killed in Middleton crash

The teenage driver died at the scene.

MIDDLETON - One juvenile died and two others were injured in a rollover crash Wednesday afternoon in Middleton, Idaho State Police said.

The crash happened at about 2:28 p.m. on Hartley Lane, south of Fieldstone Place.

ISP said the driver of a 2000 Dodge Ram pickup was going north on Hartley and went off the right shoulder.

The driver overcorrected, went off the left shoulder, and the pickup rolled. It went through a fence and came to rest in a pasture.

The driver was ejected from the truck and died at the scene. The Canyon County coroner has identified the driver as 16-year-old Ashtyn Walsh of Middleton. The cause of death is listed as blunt force trauma.

Two juvenile passengers were transported by ground ambulance - one to St. Luke's in Nampa and the other to Saint Alphonsus in Boise. The extent of their injuries in not known.

ISP is looking into what caused the crash.
