Interfaith Sanctuary Shelter in need of sandwich fixings

Homeless shelter needs sandwich donations.

BOISE -- Interfaith Sanctuary Homeless Shelter needs help providing healthy meals to their guests on the weekends.

They serve up to 164 men, women and families with children on Saturdays and Sundays. The shelter is asking for donations of nutritious sandwich ingredients such as whole grain bread, deli meats and cheeses, and peanut butter and jelly in order to provide over 300 sandwiches every weekend.

"We're trying to really step up what we can offer our guests," Interfaith Sanctuary Shelter Director of Development Jodi Peterson said.

For anyone interested in donating sandwich items to shelter guests, Peterson is asking people to contact her at jodi@interfaithsanctuary.org.

Individual donations such as loaves of bread, peanut butter, etc. can be dropped off at the Interfaith Development office at 3350 W. American Terrace, Suite 320, in Boise from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Or you can bring items directly to the Shelter at 1620 W. River Street in Boise after 6 p.m. each night.
