Idaho Potato Drop unveils new GlowTato

The GlowTato will drop in Boise on New Year's Eve.

BOISE - If you are looking for something to do this New Year's Eve, the fourth annual Idaho Potato Drop has plenty to offer.

Video shows the unveiling of the new internally-lit GlowTato.

Organizers say, along with the giant glowing spud, you can expect an enhanced fireworks display, along with NASCAR showcasing Jeffrey Earnhardt and Stafford Smith's vehicles, plus a new free heated-family tent with plenty of entertainment, including a six-hour rail jam with professionals competing from around the country.

And this year the festivities will start early at 1 p.m. on Dec. 31.
