Hundreds rally against violence in Idaho

People rallied on the Statehouse steps today.

BOISE - A rally on the Statehouse steps to end violence today.

A number of different state and local advocacy groups were represented at the rally all about love, acceptance, and human rights.

The rally was put together in response to recent violent acts across the state -- including the accusations of a locker room rape out of Dietrich, Idaho, which has garnered national attention.

"Right now we have the danger of the single narrative -- that Idaho is intolerant, that we're a place of hate, a place of violence,” said Kelly Miller with the Idaho Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence. “And we need to also recognize that we're a place of compassion and humanity and liberation."

Miller says one way she believes Idahoans can take action is by starting a conversation with your family and neighbors about the worth of every human being.
