Ground broken on 2017 St. Jude Dream Home

STAR, IDAHO - Ground was broken this morning for the 2017 St. Jude Dream Home.

Next year's home will be built in Star and is valued at nearly $450,000.

Once complete, it will be a 2,700 square foot single-level home, with 3 bedrooms and a media room.

This marks the 12th annual St. Jude Dream Home and the fifth built by Berkeley Building Company.

"Every year we look at the site that we have to work with. This time we're out at The Preserve at Heron River in Star, beautiful community, close to the river and we thought let's use the kind of laid back atmosphere and let's do a contemporary farm house this year," said Joe Atalla, President of Berkeley Building Company.

Tickets for the dream home go on sale in April 2017. They'll be $100 each.

All of the money raised goes to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which treats kids with cancer and other life threatening illnesses.
