POCATELLO - About 40 car seats are sitting in a Pocatello Police Department storage room waiting for parents in need.
KPVI-TV reports that thanks to a $9,000 grant from the Idaho Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the state transportation agency, the police department will add 120 more car seats to their offerings.
Police car seat specialist Mindi Anderson says the program is designed to get children in the correct seat.
She says parents or guardians can come in and learn which seat is best, depending on the child's age and other factors.
Parents will also go through a tutorial by certified technicians. The child must be present when they educate the parents on the seats.
