Eagle High School honors veterans

The afternoon program was just for students.

EAGLE - There are many celebrations being held this week across the Treasure Valley in honor of Veterans Day.

The Eagle Lions Club held their annual program as a way for them to say “thank you” to our veterans.

It's done during the day to give students the opportunity to learn about the importance of this holiday.

"I think there is a real need for this in the community,” said Seth McMullen, Eagle High choir director. “I also think there is a very big need for this amongst our student body that our students learn about Veterans Day, to have an opportunity to thank the veterans, to meet some veterans and to see them honored. That's why we do that during the school day."

The first program this afternoon was just for students and families in the Eagle High School auditorium, and it was emceed by KTVB’s Larry Gebert.

A second session was held for the public Thursday night.
