Coroner releases name of teen who died in Quinn's Pond

Teen pulled out of Quinn's Pond.

BOISE - The Ada County coroner has released the name of a teenage boy who died after being pulled from Quinn's Pond Friday evening.

The victim has been identified as 15-year-old Eieu-Donne Eca of Boise. Coroner Dotti Owens listed the cause of death as drowning. She ruled his death an accident.

The Boise Fire Department said a report was received shortly after 7 p.m. Friday of a swimmer who went under the water while swimming with friends.

Crews from the Boise Fire Department, the fire department's dive team, Ada County Paramedics and Boise Police responded.

The dive team found the teen and pulled him out of the water. Paramedics treated him and took him to the Saint Alphonsus, but he did not survive.

The Boise Fire official KTVB talked to at the scene said the teen was under the water for about 23 minutes. He wasn't wearing a life preserver.
