Operation Lights Out helps keep children safe on Halloween

BOISE - With Halloween approaching soon, the Canyon County Sheriff’s office and the Ada County Sheriff’s office are planning to keep children’s safety a top priority as they go door to door to trick-or-treat.

Deputies will conduct an “Operation Lights Out” initiative Halloween night geared at registered sex offenders on parole or on probation.  Deputies will check the sex offender’s residences to confirm they’re at home with their porch lights turned off.  Otherwise, they could be seen as purposely attracting trick-or-treaters.

Make sure registered sex offenders keep their lights out this Halloween.
