SUV flips in crash on inbound Connector

BOISE -- Two people were hurt in a collision that blocked lanes on eastbound I-184 Wednesday morning.

The wreck happened at 10:18 a.m. near Curtis Road.

Idaho State Police Trooper Michael Kish said the SUV veered into the guardrail, then overturned, rolling onto its side facing the wrong direction. A second car then crashed into the wrecked SUV, he said.

"The other vehicle unfortunately was close behind in the lane that the first vehicle stopped in, and then hit that vehicle," Kish said.

Both drivers suffered minor injuries, but only one needed to be taken to a hospital by ambulance, police say.

The wreck blocked two lanes for about an hour, funneling passing drivers into just one lane and causing backups. The wreck has since been cleared.

Kish says police are still investigating what caused the woman in the SUV to hit the guardrail. He said it's lucky more cars weren't involved in the pileup.

"Fortunately, only two vehicles and those drivers with minor injuries," he said. "It could have been much worse."
