BOISE - The Boise Airport is working to make travel this summer a bit easier.
Today, the Transportation Security Administration launched their temporary Precheck enrollment center at the Boise Airport.
TSA Precheck allows flyers enjoy a quick screening process -- letting them leave on their shoes, jacket and belt, keep their laptop and compliant liquids in a carry-on bag during check in.
“A tremendous difference. You could stand over there and wait in line for 20 minutes versus two, and that's a big difference when you're traveling," said Boise resident Katherine Laird.
If you'd like to enroll, you'll need to do that at the Boise Airport.
You'll only have five days to do that, starting Monday, May 8.
Enrollment times are:
- Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m and 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.
- Friday from 7 a.m. - 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.
You will need to bring a current U.S. passport or driver's license and a copy of your birth certificate.
Staff will also collect fingerprints.
The application fee is $85, and once approved your "trusted traveler" status will be good for five years at airport security checkpoints nationwide.
