Boise man killed in motorcycle crash identified

EAGLE -- The Ada County Coroner's Office has released the name of a Boise man killed when his motorcycle was struck by another vehicle Friday evening.

Aaron Joseph Thomas, 29, was riding west on Idaho 44 when he was hit by a car turning north onto Edgewood Drive in Eagle.

Thomas died at the scene from blunt force trauma. His death has been ruled an accident.

The Ada County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash. Authorities say the driver of the other vehicle failed to yield to Thomas.

Several dozen people gathered with balloons Saturday afternoon at the intersection where the motorcycle rider died. A memorial set up on the corner of Idaho 44 and Edgewood Drive bears Thomas' name.
