Body of hunter who went missing in 2016 has been found

GRANGEVILLE - The body of a man who went missing last November has been found, the Idaho County Sheriff's Office said.

It was reported that Tark H. Meyer, 67, went missing Nov. 21, 2016, in the area of Milepost 19 on Highway 14.

Meyer had gone hunting alone a few days earlier, and family members had not been able to find him. The sheriff's office said relatives were concerned that he may have harmed himself because of his recent behavior.

Idaho County Sheriff's Deputies and Search and Rescue members also searched the area for several days.

Officials said a Search and Rescue member took advantage of weather conditions on May 9 and searched again, finding Meyer's body on a rock shelf east of where his camp had been.

The cause of death will be determined by the Idaho County Coroner's Office.
