BASE jumper hurt in leap from Perrine Bridge

TWIN FALLS -- The fourth time was not the charm for a BASE jumper who leaped off the Perrine Bridge Tuesday.

Twin Falls Sheriff's Office Lt. Daron Brown said the 33-year-old man was injured when he landed below the bridge.

Lt. Daron Brown with the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office said deputies took a boat into the Snake River to reach the jumper, while paramedics hiked in to his location.

It was the man's fourth jump of the day, Brown said.

According to the sheriff's department, the man's chute fully opened, but he suffered a leg injury when he landed.

The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
