Albertsons donates 2,616 turkey dinners

BOISE - Albertsons employees and customers have stepped up once again to help hungry families in our community.

Over 2,600 full turkey dinners were delivered to the Idaho Foodbank Thursday.

It's all thanks to the "Turkey Bucks" campaign that allows shoppers all over the state to donate their choice of one, five, or ten dollars when they go to check out.

All of the donations then go towards Idaho families in need.

“We're very proud to have our corporate office here in the Treasure Valley and we want to be great citizens of the community," said John Colgrove, President of Albertsons Intermountain Division. "This is a great place to live and to work and we always want to be there to help those that might need a hand up in the community."

All of these meals have come at the perfect time since the Idaho Foodbank is working to distribute enough food to make 3 million meals in the final months of the year.
