BOISE -- Police say two people are safe after a fire broke out near a west Boise home just after 1 p.m. Thursday.
Police spokesperson Lynn Hightower said the blaze happened near the corner of Rugby Drive and Kingswood Drive just northeast of Ustick Road.
Hightower said the fire started in an attached oversized RV garage, then spread to the home. She said the garage and accompanying RV are a total loss.
Six fire engines, two ladder trucks, a safety officer, paramedics, and two battalion chiefs responded to the fire.
Hightower said two people were in the house when the flames broke out, but were able to escape without injury.
The fire has been extinguished. The cause is under investigation.
