BOISE – Boise Police are looking for the driver of an SUV who was involved in a serious hit-and-run collision in northwest Boise Saturday afternoon.

KTVB received photos of the accident from a viewer today. Jennifer Gilmore tells us that her 16-year-old son Will Ehrmantrout driving a white 1999 VW Passat that was badly damaged in the accident.

Witnesses told police that a dark colored SUV was southbound on State Street just east of Gary Lane at around 5:30 p.m. Saturday when the male driver appeared to turn aggressively at a small white car occupied by four teenagers.  The SUV struck the car, pushing it up onto the sidewalk where it struck several trees, rolled and hit a parked vehicle. The driver of the SUV did not stop after the crash.

Firefighters had to extricate one of the teens who was trapped inside the car. Three people in the car were taken to a local hospital, where they were treated and released. Gilmore says her son and another passenger are still sore from the crash.

Several witnesses reported seeing the same SUV driving recklessly in a parking lot at the northeast corner of State Street and Gary Lane prior to the collision. The SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed and nearly struck several parked cars.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a dark colored SUV similar to a Chevy Blazer or Dodge Durango. The vehicle may have damage to the right rear fender.

The driver of the SUV is described as a light skinned adult male with a goatee and a tattoo on one shoulder, and wearing a tank top.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
